Étienne Nadeau

Lawyer (Quebec Bar), Étiennne practices in intellectual property and technology law.

Prior to joining BENOÎT & CÔTÉ, he developed his skills within a renowned multidisciplinary firm in intellectual property and business law, through various mandates involving complex legal issues, while working in close collaboration with trademark and patent experts. He has notably contributed to the drafting of legal articles on intellectual property and privacy issues, including Bill C-27, the novelty test for patents, IP damages, and IP protection in the Metaverse.

Étienne has also gained experience in copyright law with the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec and in technology law as part of a research mandate at the Université de Montréal.

Involved in several associations, Étienne expresses his passion for entertainment and technology law through his involvement in the legal community. He is a member of the Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI), the Association des juristes pour l’avancement de la vie artistique (AJAVA) and the Information Technology Committee of the Young Bar of Montreal.

Étienne practices in both French and English.
