Starting December 6, 2011, anyone may register any available .xxx domain names. Those .xxx domain names will be used in connection with adult entertainment industry.

Consequences for you: your company or trademark names, today registered with extensions such as .com or .ca, may be registered by another company with extenion .xxx, and be associated with an image far from what you wish to reflect…

How can you protect your trademark: to avoid such situation, ICM Registry, responsible for .xxx domains, anounced a Sunrise Period from September 7, until october 28, 2011. During this period you may exclude your trademarks or company names from .xxx, and by this protect your identity and image.
